Congressman Vernon Ehlers (MI-3), a longtime science champion is retiring. He will be missed.
It was mentioned on this blog a few weeks ago that many of the Congressional champions for science are also retiring. One of the best, Representative Vernon Ehlers, was not only a friend to practicing scientists but a driving force behind the nation realizing the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education.
He’s written a short piece for The Hill about the history of STEM-Ed in Congress, closing with a plea for another member of Congress to continue the fight for STEM-Ed.
